If you're using buses in rural areas, download the local app 'Traveline' for real-time updates. It saved me a few hours waiting in the cold!
Food was a mixed bag, had some amazing haggis but struggled with the prices overall. Loved the cozy pubs though, very authentic vibe.
Loved the history and the castles, but the tourist crowds especially around Edinburgh can be overwhelming. Best to explore early mornings.
Scotland's weather was tougher than I expected, lots of rain but the landscape makes up for it. Spend at least a week to take it all in.
Avoid dining right in Old Town Edinburgh, prices are inflated. Walk a few blocks out for better deals and tastier food, definitely worth it.
