Fatti rapidi: The Danube carved this 100-kilometer-long gorge system over millions of years, creating Europe's most dramatic river passage. Rock walls soar up to 300 meters above the water at the narrowest point, where the river squeezes to just 150 meters wide.

Punti salienti: Trajan's Table, a Roman memorial plaque carved directly into the cliff face, still marks the spot where Emperor Trajan's army built a 33-meter-wide road along the vertical rock wall in 100 AD.
