For cheaper eats, skip the restaurants near the main square. Walk 5 minutes to the east side where locals hang out for tastier food and better prices.

Loved the chill atmosphere, small town charm with cool cafes. The Soca river was my favorite hangout. Weather got rainy a couple days though, pack a waterproof. 4 days felt just right.

Bovec is a mixed bag. The scenery is fantastic but some of the touristy spots felt overcrowded. The local cuisine was hit or miss. Probably don’t need more than 2 days here.

Heads up: if you’re renting gear for rafting or biking, book directly from local shops outside of the tourist centers, much cheaper and better equipment quality.

Nice little getaway spot. Service in restaurants can be slow and prices are shocking compared to the rest of Slovenia. Bring cash as cards aren’t always accepted around.
