Weather was unpredictable, sunny mornings but sudden rain in the afternoon made outdoor plans tricky several times.
Billund felt calm and safe, ideal for a short family trip, I think two full days is enough to see most highlights comfortably.
Legoland is fun but way too crowded, especially on weekends, it drained a bit of the charm out of the town for me.
The food scene is nicer than I expected, good variety for a small town but some restaurants close pretty early so plan ahead.
If you want to skip some crowds at Legoland, go right when it opens or late afternoon, many leave by then making lines shorter.
