Loved the vibe in Sirmione, cozy streets but a bit touristy. Great gelato spots everywhere. Best to stay 2-3 days to soak it in.
Avoid eating close to the lakefront, walk about two blocks inland for cheaper and tastier local trattorias.
Really beautiful place but very commercialized. The castle is cool if you like history but the crowds can be overwhelming in summer.
Visit early in the morning for the Scaliger Castle. The lines get long later and morning light is best for photos.
Try taking the bus from Desenzano station instead of taxi, super cheap and frequent. Saves a lot on transport costs.
