Raske fakta: Slottets 34 meter høye tårn fungerte både som forsvarsfestninger og en markering av Radziwiłł-familiens enorme rikdom. Mer enn 200 rom inni var en gang forbundet med et hemmelig underjordisk tunnelsystem som strakte seg over 40 kilometer.
Høydepunkter: Se nøye på takene inne i Gullhallen: de er malt med en trompe-l'oeil-teknikk som får den flate overflaten til å fremstå som en massiv kuppel som strekker seg tre etasjer opp. Freskene var skjult under lag av gips i flere tiår etter andre verdenskrig, og ble først gjenoppdaget under en restaurering på 1990-tallet da arbeidere ved et uhell hakket seg gjennom til de originale 1500-tallsmaleriene intakt.

- Skip the overpriced cafe inside the castle and walk 5 minutes to the restaurant on the lakefront for better food at half the price.
- The best photo spot is from the wooden bridge across the moat at sunset, where the red brick facades reflect perfectly in the water.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes: the stone spiral staircases in the towers have over 150 uneven steps with no handrails.
- Arrive right at opening time (10:00 AM) to tour the main halls before tour groups flood in around 11:30 AM.
