Raske fakta: Museet ligger i ruinene av middelalderborgen til hertugfamilien i Hercegovina, med murer og tårn fra 1300-tallet som fortsatt står. Samlingen har over 3000 gjenstander, fra illyriske keramikk til osmanske våpen og tradisjonelle drakter, som spenner over flere tusen års historie.
Høydepunkter: Under museets gårdsplass ligger en komplett romersk villa fra oldtiden, med gulvmosaikker som er utrolig godt bevart. De geometriske mønstrene fra for 2000 år siden har fortsatt klare farger. Fra borgtårnet har du utsikt over Trebižat-elven som slynger seg gjennom kalksteinskløften, og du kan se klokketårnene til fire middelalderkirker på én gang.

- Climb the castle tower at 3-4 PM, when the golden light is best for panoramic canyon photos.
- The mosaic floors of the Roman villa underground are actually clearer on overcast days, as there is less glare from the glass windows.
- Wear comfortable flat shoes. The cobblestone slope leading up to the castle is steep and slippery.
- The old town alleys behind the museum have a few family-run restaurants that are half the price of those on the main street.
