Raske fakta: A bronze statue of the Virgin Mary stands atop this rocky outcrop, watching over the bay since 1865. The wooden footbridge stretching out to the rock was rebuilt in 1887 after a storm wrecked the original, and the whole site sits at the tip of the Grande Plage.
Høydepunkter: When the Atlantic swell picks up, waves crash straight over the bridge and soak anyone brave enough to stand at the end, a spectacle that draws crowds just to watch. Locals say the best way to see it is from the beach at low tide, where you can walk right around the base of the rock and feel the spray on your face.
