Insidertips
- Pack a picnic to eat on the grassy parterre facing the farmhouse, a spot most tourists walk right past.
- Bring binoculars for spotting red squirrels that dart between the hornbeam hedges, especially active during September nut harvesting.
- The potager (vegetable garden) is easiest accessed via the eastern gate on Rue Champ Lagarde instead of the main entrance.
- Rainy days are actually ideal as the wet gravel paths are near empty and the damp air amplifies the scent of fallen apples.
