Raske fakta: Flammen som brenner her skal angivelig ikke ha sluknet på over 1500 år, og er en av verdens eldste kontinuerlig brennende ildsteder. Den hellige ilden som oppbevares i tempelet, ble samlet fra ni forskjellige kilder før den ble brakt hit på begynnelsen av 1900-tallet.
Høydepunkter: Midt på fasaden overvåker et enormt Faravahar-symbol hogd i stein de besøkende, et av de eldste symbolene i den zoroastriske troen. Lyset som filtreres gjennom templets glassvindu danser i rommet på en slik måte at den eldgamle flammen omgis av en nesten overnaturlig glød.

- The sacred fire is kept behind glass; photography is forbidden inside the inner chamber, but you are free to take pictures in the entrance hall and the courtyard.

- Put on a cap or scarf at the entrance; women must cover their hair, and respectful attire is also expected for men.
- It is worth spending a quiet moment in the shade of the ancient cypress trees in the temple garden before leaving.
