Raske fakta: To av Galileos originale fingre og en tann er bevart i en glassmonter her, fjernet fra kroppen hans av beundrere i 1737. Museet har 1000 vitenskapelige instrumenter som spenner fra 1000- til 1800-tallet, inkludert en av de tidligste kjente astrolabene, fra 1085.

- The second floor holds Galileo's personal instruments while the first floor covers earlier science, head straight up if you're pressed for time.
- Photography is allowed without flash, so bring your camera for the intricate brass astrolabes and ornate globes.
- Plan just 90 minutes for the main collection, the museum is compact with no cafe or large temporary exhibitions to slow you down.
