Fushimi Inari Taisha
Beste tid å besøke
Arrive at sunrise, around 6 to 7 a.m., to beat the crowds and catch soft morning light filtering through the gates. Early morning also brings cooler temperatures during summer months.
Budsjettips
Entry is completely free, and no tickets or passes are needed at any point. Snacks and drinks are cheaper at the konbini near the bottom of the trail than at stalls along the path.

Insidertips
- Wear sturdy shoes, the stone steps get slick with moss and the climb is steeper than it looks.
- The crowd thins dramatically after the first kilometer, so push past the dense section near the bottom for a quieter experience.
- Small foxes (kitsune) statues mark the entrance, they're messengers of the shrine and worth a photo before the crowds gather.
- Bring a flashlight in the evening, the upper sections of the trail have no lighting after dark.
