Early morning or late afternoon is ideal for the visit, when the sunlight casts dramatic shadows on the rock wall. The weather is most favorable between May and October, while in the winter months some sections of the trails are covered in ice.

Raske fakta: The gorge valley, 25 kilometers long and 650 to 1,000 meters deep, is located in the Perjeshát mountain range. The valley was carved out over time by the Peja stream, which has made it one of the best spots for whitewater rafting in the Balkans.
Høydepunkter: In the gorge there is the 642-meter-long Gryka e Rugovës suspension bridge, beneath which a chasm 130 meters deep yawns. Walking across the bridge feels as if you were treading on air, while the roar of the stream echoes between the rock walls.
Insidertips
- Wear waterproof shoes, because you have to wade through the stream in a few places during the hike.
- It is worth going to the Gryka e Rugovës suspension bridge at sunset, the colors and lights are stunning.
- Don't miss the detour leading to the Vlashnjë waterfall, which is a 20-minute easy walk from the main trail.
- It is best to come on weekdays, because Kosovo tourists flood the valley on the weekends.
