Prechádzka na Crocodile Island
Beste tid å besøke
Arrive 2 hours before low tide so you can cross safely and explore before the water returns. December to May offers the calmest seas and most predictable tide schedules.
Budsjettips
No entrance fee to the island itself, but you'll need to rent a boat or kayak from the main beach if you miss the low-tide window, which costs around 300-500 PHP. Hiring a local guide from Station 1 beach costs about 200 PHP and ensures you don't get stranded by the rising tide.

Om
Raske fakta: This small island gets its name from the crocodile-shaped limestone formation that juts out from its edge, not from actual reptiles. At low tide, you can walk across a shallow sandbar to reach it, but the crossing disappears completely when the tide comes back in.
Høydepunkter: Stand on the island's rocky edge at sunset and watch the tide swallow the sandy path behind you, cutting off your route to the main shore. Locals know to time their visit with the lunar calendar, when the lowest tides reveal hidden tide pools teeming with orange starfish and tiny blue crabs.
Insidertips
- Wear water shoes with good grip, the limestone rocks are razor-sharp and slippery with seaweed.
- Bring a dry bag for your phone and wallet, the waist-deep crossing on the sandbar can get choppy.
- Go on a weekday morning to have the entire island to yourself, weekends draw cruise ship day-trippers.
- Look for the narrow cave on the southeast side, it's just big enough for two people and stays cool even at noon.
