Raske fakta: Tre gotiske altere fra 1400- og 1500-tallet har overlevd inne i denne lutherske kirken i Spišská Sobota, et av de best bevarte middelalderalterensemblene i Slovakia. Kirken ligger på et torg som en gang var åsted for henrettelser, med en gapestokk som fremdeles står i nærheten.
Høydepunkter: Det viktigste gotiske alterskapet rager 12 meter i høyden og inneholder 126 detaljerte figurer skåret ut av lindetre, alle originale fra 1516. Bladgull-detaljer glitrer fortsatt etter 500 år fordi kirken aldri ble plyndret eller malt om.

- Visit the pillory outside in the square afterward and imagine the executions that once took place here.
