Raske fakta: Mer enn 3 000 fisk fra over 200 arter driver gjennom akvariene, og mange av dem er fanget i det kalde Atlanterhavet rett utenfor kysten. En enkelt 360-graders tunnel går i løkke gjennom det største akvariet og lar virvlende stimer og saktegående haier strømme forbi på alle kanter.
Høydepunkter: Et komplett hvalskjelett henger over en kopi av en hvalfangstbåt, og hver ribbe buer seg høyere enn en stående voksen og kaster lange skygger over tredekket. Ved siden av båten ligger en sprukket harpun og kveiler av slitt tau, levninger fra jaktene med åpne båter som generasjoner av lokale sjømenn risikerte livet for å gjennomføre.

- Time your visit for the scheduled shark and ray feedings, posted at the entrance, when the tunnel turns electric.
- The tunnel is quietest in the first hour after opening, so start there and circle back for the smaller tanks.
- Ask at the front desk about the supervised touch pools, where kids can gently meet starfish and rays.
- Skip the gift shop if you're short on time, the whale skeleton upstairs is the payoff you came for.
