Raske fakta: Over 300 hulrom ble hogd ut i den vulkanske tuffflaten på denne 80 meter høye klippen, og dannet det største før-hispaniske kornlageret på Kanariøyene. Høydepunkter: Tidlige spanske kolonisatorer tok feil av de hundrevis av huleåpningene for et kloster og kalte det Cenobio, men lokalbefolkningen kjente det som øyas eldgamle matbank. - Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, the path to the entrance involves loose gravel and a steep incline.
- Arrive right at opening time (10:00 AM) to have the wooden walkways almost to yourself.
- Bring binoculars or a zoom lens to spot the smaller cavities high up that you can't see from the walkway.
- Stop by the small on-site museum first, it explains the ingenious ventilation system that kept grain dry inside the rock.
