Raske fakta: Tucked along Bodrum's waterfront, this 15th-century fortress was built by the Knights Hospitaller using stones from the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Its towers bear the names of four European nations , France, England, Italy, and Germany , each reflecting the architectural style of their sponsors.
Høydepunkter: Visitors walk directly on ancient Greek marble blocks from the Mausoleum, seamlessly embedded into castle walls and pathways. Inside the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, you can see the Uluburun shipwreck's cargo: a 3,300-year-old time capsule of copper ingots, Canaanite jewelry, and even a golden scarab belonging to Egypt's Queen Nefertiti.
