Raske fakta: Grunnlagt av billedhugger Henry Moore selv i 1977, huser dette instituttet en av Storbritannias største samlinger av skulpturarkiver med over 35 000 gjenstander som spenner over to århundrer. Den slående modernistiske bygningen på The Headrow står i kontrast til den viktorianske arkitekturen rundt den, og trekker 60 000 besøkende årlig for å se både faste utstillinger og skiftende samtidsutstillinger.
Høydepunkter: Instituttets skjulte skatt er arkivsenteret du kan booke for å utforske, hvor du kan håndtere originale skissebøker og gipsmaquette fra Moores egen hånd. De fleste besøkende er ikke klar over at bygningens rå betonginteriør ble bevisst designet for å gjenspeile teksturen i en billedhuggers atelier, komplett med naturlig lys som strømmer inn gjennom et dramatisk glasstak.
