Rýchle fakty: The bridge measures 28 meters long and is painted a deep vermilion red that contrasts with the green of the surroundings. Only about 8.5 million pilgrims crossed annually the ancient road that passed through this point.
Zaujímavosti: Legend has it that a monk named Shōdō could not cross the Daiya River and two divine serpents transformed into the bridge to help him. At the spring opening ceremony, monks recreate this miracle by walking barefoot over holy water while bells resound throughout the valley.

- Cross early to have the bridge almost empty, around 8:00 when it opens.
- The best angle for photos is on the upper trail that climbs toward Futarasan Shrine, not from the main road.
- Wear comfortable footwear because the stone path connecting to the shrine is steep and slippery after rain.
- In December and January, the bridge takes on a magical look with snow piled up on the vermilion posts.
