Brze činjenice: A 1.5-kilometer stretch of soft sand and pebbles, this beach offers front-row views of the San Juan Islands and Mount Baker on clear days. Its iconic pier stretches 468 meters into the Salish Sea, making it one of the longest wooden piers on Canada's west coast.
Istaknuto: At low tide, the exposed sandbars reveal thousands of tiny purple and orange ochre sea stars clinging to the rocky patches. Local families have been racing homemade cardboard boats across the tidal flats during the annual Sandcastle Competition since 1988.
