If you are looking for tips on things to see and do in Aarhus, Denmark, this dynamic port city will charm you. Be sure to visit Den Gamle By, an open-air museum with over 75 historical buildings from all over Denmark. Do not forget the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum with its unique rainbow panorama on the roof, which offers a view of the entire city.

Art that pulls you in, and a view that turns every cloudy sky into a rainbow. Walk along a 150-meter glass corridor, sit in the rooftop cafe, and discover world-class contemporary art.
Brze činjenice: A colorful rainbow panorama on the roof by Olafur Eliasson measures 150 meters and consists of 12 different color shades. From above you can see all of Aarhus in any weather, because the glass walkway Your Rainbow Panorama is open year-round.
Istaknuto: The Your Rainbow Panorama walkway is not just a viewpoint, it is a space that changes the perception of colors and the city. As you walk through it, each step reveals a different color filter, so the same city suddenly looks like it is on another planet.

A museum where you trip over Viking swords and travel back in time 10,000 years. Down a slanted corridor with a glass wall, you will descend straight into the Stone Age.

Here you are not afraid of heights, but of beauty. From the tower you will see all of Aarhus in the palm of your hand, and inside you will be amazed by medieval frescoes and a golden altar.
Brze činjenice: At almost 100 meters, it is the tallest church in Denmark and its tower is visible from most parts of the city. Inside you will find the longest surviving wall paintings in all of Scandinavia, covering an incredible 1,500 square meters.
Istaknuto: Notice the huge frescoes on the ceiling: they date from the 15th century and were painted by the famous so-called "Aarhus Master". They have retained incredibly vivid colors to this day, especially the deep blue and red that literally surround you when you enter.

The only place where you can see the Danish queen in her pajamas. Stroll through the royal park full of statues, roses, and secret corners.

A place where an amusement park blends with a festival atmosphere. Adrenaline rides, summer concerts, and relaxing in greenery just 10 minutes from the center await you.

You enter a functionalist palace that is both an office and a work of art. A 60-meter tower with a view of the entire city awaits you, and a carillon you must not miss.

A place where library, architecture, and city life form one whole. Robots that bring you a book, a green roof with beehives, and a view of all of Aarhus await you.

Food scene is seriously underrated. Had the best smorrebro at a tiny place near the cathedral. Cheaper than I thought too.
Get the Aarhus Card if youre doing more than 2 museums. It pays for itself fast plus includes bus transport around the city.
Weather was cold even in June which killed my vibe a bit. Locals were super friendly though and the coffee shops are everywhere. Nice weekend spot.
Took the free walking tour and our guide was hilarious. Aarhus feels way more chill than Copenhagen but still has great energy at night.
Dont bother with taxis they are ridiculous. The light rail is clean and goes straight from the station to everything you need. Download the app before you go.
