Brze činjenice: Šelijev engleski sonet „Ozimandija" inspirisao je džinovski kolos koji je pao na zemlju u dvorištu, a koji je prikazivao Ramzesa Drugog. Kolos je nekada bio visok oko 19 metara i težak blizu 1.000 tona, a sama glava bila je duga 2,5 metra.
Istaknuto: Glava kolosa, visoka oko 2,5 metra i teška 7 tona, i danas leži na zemlji, a upravo je ta glava bila Šelijeva muza za sonet. Ornamenti grobnice posvećene nebeskoj boginji Nut, stari skoro 3.000 godina, ostali su potpuno netaknuti.
