Brze činjenice: Roughly 40 tanks hold more than 120 native Adriatic species inside a 300-year-old former salt warehouse. Local marine biologists run the place, so the fish on display are actually caught nearby in the Gulf of Trieste rather than shipped in from overseas.

Istaknuto: The most surprising residents are the seahorses: the resident team has bred several generations in-house, and on good days you can spot a pregnant male carrying eggs in his pouch. Look up while you're there, since the tanks sit under massive original oak beams and wooden columns that once held thousands of kilos of salt.
