Brze činjenice: Slavnik se uzdiže 1.028 metara iznad istarskog poluostrva, što ga čini najvišom tačkom slovenačke Istre. U vedrim danima, vrh pruža pogled koji se proteže preko Tršćanskog zaliva do Dolomita, pa čak i do hrvatskih ostrva.
Istaknuto: Vrh Slavnika ima jednu od jedinih operativnih meteoroloških radarskih stanica u Sloveniji, ogromnu belu kupolu koja deluje gotovo vanzemaljski naspram zelenih brda. Planinari koji usklade svoj dolazak sa izlaskom sunca mogu gledati kako radarska kupola postaje ružičasta dok se čitava istarska obala polako izranja iz jutarnje magle ispod.
