Locals gather on the benches carved into the promenade's curved edge to watch the sun dip behind the Sierra Bernia mountains, a daily ritual that has defined this coast for generations.

- Wear sturdy sandals or grippy shoes: the mosaic paving gets slippery after morning cleaning.

- Skip the restaurants right on the seafront and walk two streets inland for better value and equally good seafood.
