O atrakciji

Brze činjenice: A Baroque-style mansion from 1919 once belonged to the Koo family, one of Taiwan's most influential clans during the Japanese colonial era. Over 3,000 artifacts cram the rooms, from a lavish carved wedding bed to vintage phonographs and antique opium pipes.

Istaknuto: The mansion itself was the residence of Koo Hsien-jung, the man who famously opened the gates of Taipei to Japanese forces in 1895, forever changing Taiwan's trajectory. Visitors can still see the original family dining table set with porcelain, as if the Koos just stepped away from a formal dinner.

Insajderski saveti

  • The back garden has a charming English-style gazebo perfect for a quiet rest between floors.
  • Photography is allowed inside, but skip the flash to protect the delicate fabrics and old photographs.
  • Allow extra time for the second-floor bedrooms where the original furniture and children's clothing are displayed.
  • Combine with a morning visit to Longshan Temple just a 10-minute walk away for the full Lukang experience.
