Brze činjenice: Proizvodnja vune učinila je ovaj grad izuzetno bogatim u antici, a lokalne ovce su bile cenjene zbog svoje tamnoljubičasto-crne vune. Ogroman zemljotres sravnio je grad sa zemljom u 7. veku, ostavivši njegove ruševine zatrpane pod 10 metara aluvijalnog nanosa.

Istaknuto: Za razliku od svojih blistavijih suseda Hijerapolisa i Laodikeje, ovo nalazište ostaje gotovo u potpunosti neiskopano, što znači da ceo rimski grad spava ispod poljoprivrednih njiva.
