About

Quick facts: Built on a hill with a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea, this 18th century fort still preserves original cannons pointed at the horizon. Its coral stone walls once served as a prison and today house a small museum with Jamaican military artifacts.

Highlights: What few people know is that from atop the walls you can perfectly see the sunset behind the mountains of Montego Bay, a silent and golden spectacle. The cast iron cannons are still positioned as if about to fire, and you can touch them and feel the rough texture of metal aged by sea salt.
