Castelul Pelișor
Best time to visit
Weekdays in the morning are the quietest, especially during April-May or September-October when the tourist season is milder and the light falls beautifully through the windows.
Budget tips
The entrance fee is around 40-50 lei (about 80-100 SEK) per person. Combine with a joint ticket purchase for both castles on the grounds to save money.

About
Quick facts: Here awaits Art Nouveau magic inspired by the Jugendstil style, where each room has its own color palette that tells a story. Floral motifs in gold, silk walls and a breathtaking golden staircase that glows in the light are found here.
Highlights: King Carol I had this decorated as a private sanctuary for his family, far from official functions. Here is the so-called Golden Room where every surface is covered with gilded flowers and leaves in an explosion of light and luxury.
Insider tips
- Put on socks or slippers that are easy to take off, as you must wear shoe covers over your shoes during the entire visit.
- Feel free to take photos but flash is not allowed, so come prepared with a good camera light or high ISO value.
- The golden walls in the dining room are best in the morning light, so plan your time accordingly.
- Skip the rush hour between 12-14 when busloads of groups arrive, and go instead right when it opens.
