Wear proper athletic shoes, not sandals, the uneven stone steps get slick from morning dew.
Bring a small flashlight or use your phone light for the 5:30 AM sunrise hike, the trail has no lighting.

Skip the main entrance if you want a quieter experience, use the alternate trailhead near the Universidad San Buenaventura.
