Visit on weekday mornings before 10am, when tour groups haven't arrived and the light is soft for photography. Late afternoons on weekdays are also quiet and the golden hour makes the pagoda glow.

- Wear comfortable shoes, the wooden bridges and stone paths are smooth but the garden rewards slow walking and lingering.
- Head to the pavilion beside the koi pond at sunset for the clearest reflection photos of the pagoda.
- Skip weekends entirely if possible, tour buses arrive in waves and the quiet atmosphere disappears.
- The gift shop inside the main building sells small scrolls and prints, but the same items are cheaper at nearby Temple Street market.
