关于
快速信息: Wind-carved cliffs amplify voices so clearly that a single speaker could be heard by thousands gathered across the rift. Visitors can stand on the flat ledge, feel the chill of volcanic rock underfoot, and imagine heated debates that once helped shape a nation's laws.
亮点: Since 930 AD the national assembly met there every summer, where the lawspeaker, called the lögsögumaður, recited roughly one third of the laws from memory so the whole legal code was spoken aloud over three summers. Speakers climbed a rough basalt outcrop to project their voices across mossy lava and crisp lake air, and a public proclamation, often just shouting a name and claim, made grievances official under the open sky.
