- Wear comfortable, flat shoes, the marble steps are uneven and can be slippery after rain.
- For the classic shot, stand across Piazza di Spagna to include the Barcaccia fountain, or climb to the top for city rooftops and a downward perspective.
- Visit before 9am or after 7pm to avoid the largest tour groups and tour buses.
- Skip the overpriced cafés on the immediate square, walk two to three streets away for better value coffee and pastries.
