Avoid weekend crowds by visiting early in the morning. The lavender fields open at dawn and it's peaceful then.
The lavender fields are stunning but expect crowds in peak season. Weather was cooler than expected in July. Great for a 2-day trip.
Around late spring, fewer tourists and still lots of flowers. I stayed 3 days and felt it was just right to explore calmly.
Winter brought the powder snow and the skiing was top notch, but prepare for very cold nights, not for a quick trip really.
Try the Furano Cheese Factory early before noon, usually less crowded and the samples are fresh. Stayed away from the busy afternoon times.
