It is best before sunset, when Valletta takes on a golden hue, and the temperature is pleasant in both summer and winter. Early morning is ideal for those who want a quieter walk before the crowds arrive.

Entry is completely free, and the same goes for swimming in the sea directly from the rocks. The ferry to Valletta costs about 2 euros one way, and coffee in local cafés is twice as cheap as in tourist restaurants on the promenade itself.

- The best photo is from the end of the promenade at Tigné Point, from which you can see all of Valletta in the frame.
- The Bugibba side sunset is beautiful, but there is the least crowd on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, when the locals are working.
- The ferry to Valletta is more cost-effective than a taxi, and the line departs every half hour until midnight.
