Try to get to the hot springs early morning before the crowds set in. It’s cheaper and way more peaceful that way.
Food options are decent but overpriced near the train station. Wander a few blocks out for tastier and cheaper meals. Loved the fresh fruit juices!
Buy your Machu Picchu tickets online in advance to avoid scams. Also, the bus line has long waits, so consider hiking if you have time.
The weather was way hotter than I expected. Bring lots of sunblock even if you think it's cool at higher altitudes. We stayed 3 nights but 2 would've been enough IMO.
Crowds can be intense early in the morning with all the Machu Picchu visitors, but the town itself is charming if you stray off the main strip.
