Not gonna lie, I expected more traditional vibes. It's just a massive modern city with construction everywhere. Felt a bit generic.
The food scene is incredible. I had the best mutton mandi of my life in a tiny spot near Al Bujairi. Riyadh surprised me in the best way.
Mixed feelings. The Kingdom Centre views are stunning but the city lacks walkability. You need a car or taxis for everything which adds up.
Skip the overpriced cafes in Tahlia street. Go to Al Mursalat area instead. Half the price, better vibe, and actual locals hang there.
Felt very safe walking around even late at night. People were genuinely friendly and helpful. Underrated destination honestly.
