- Walk past the main umbrellas toward the far eastern edge near the watchtower where the sand is softer and crowds thin out. Bring water shoes because scattered pebbles near the waterline can surprise your feet. For the best photos, climb the rocks behind the watchtower for a wide-angle view of the whole cove. Pack a picnic and arrive on a weekday if you want the beach nearly to yourself before 10 AM.
