关于
快速信息: Home to the second-largest collection of primate species in the United States, this zoo lets you walk through a rainforest habitat where monkeys swing freely above your head. The zoo also features a 2-acre Australian adventure where you can hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies in an open paddock.
亮点: Inside the Primate, Cat and Aquatics Building, you can watch tigers swimming underwater through massive viewing windows, a rare behavior to witness up close. The zoo also runs a dedicated veterinary hospital that treats over 4,000 animals each year, offering behind-the-scenes tours where you can see surgeries and rehabilitation in action.
内部小贴士
- Arrive early and head straight to the Wilderness Trek tram last, as the 30-minute ride fills up fast and has limited seats on peak days.
- The Australian Adventure kangaroo walk is significantly less crowded right after opening and right before closing.
- Bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle; the zoo has plenty of fountains and shaded rest areas spread across the grounds.
- Skip the onsite food courts and pack a picnic instead, the zoo has several lovely designated picnic areas with great views.
