About

快速信息: Stepping through the ornate gate feels like slipping into a vanished court, where worn stone platforms and dragon-carved bricks still hum with echoes of imperial ceremonies. Archaeologists have unearthed thousands of ceramics, lacquerware, and structural layers across more than 18 hectares, revealing a palimpsest of successive capitals beneath the modern city.

亮点: Beneath the grassy courtyards archaeologists uncovered nine superimposed occupation layers, with ceramics and timber foundations dating from the 7th century through the 20th century so you can literally trace capital life across a millennium. At dawn you can smell faint traces of old lacquer near the weathered flagpole base, and guides point out a tiny carved stone dragon about 8 centimeters across that once marked the emperor’s private route.

Insider tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes, many paths are uneven and archaeological sites require careful steps.
  • Bring a hat and water in summer, shade can be limited around the ruins.
  • Head to the Flag Tower and the restored Kinh Thien Palace gate for the best photo compositions.
  • Join a guided tour or hire a local guide at the entrance to understand archaeological layers and the site's history more fully.
