Walk the Caprera island coastal trail

Koha më e mirë për të vizituar

Late afternoon for golden light on the granite, with far fewer hikers than morning. Spring and fall offer mild temperatures and wildflowers that carpet the inland sections.

Këshilla për buxhetin

Access to the trail is completely free, no tickets required. Parking near the bridge to Caprera costs 5 euro for the day, or park in Palau and take the bus for 1.50 euro each way.

Rreth

  • Start clockwise from the bridge for dramatic coastal views first, saving the wooded inland stretch for the return.
  • Wear sturdy shoes: the granite sections get polished smooth by wind and can be slippery near the water.
  • The only drinking water tap is at the Garibaldi museum entrance, so carry at least 1.5 liters per person.
  • Bring a swimsuit and towel, some of the most swimmable coves like Cala Portese are mid-trail with zero crowds.
