It is best to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the sun is low and not as scorching, and the colors of the cliffs take on a warm hue. Spring and autumn are ideal times for hiking, because you will avoid the summer heat exceeding 35°C.

Entry to the natural park is completely free, you only pay for parking at the trail entrance, usually 5-8 euros per day. Bring water and food supplies from San José, because there are no shops in the trail area, and prices at nearby bars are heavily inflated.
