Fakte të shpejta: As visitors walk under the shade of the plane trees, they immediately feel the nostalgia evoked by the wooden floors and old gas lamps. More than 200 photographs and documents displayed within the venue offer surprising details about the decision-making process during the period of salvation.
Pikat kryesore: The smell of wood in the corridors and the sharp scent of old-bound documents make history a vivid performance during the approximately 15-minute reenactment presented by the guides. It is said that a small note box, where the name of Kazım Karabekir is mentioned in local narratives, is still there, and visitors listen to the story of that box at a special 3-minute stop with a guide.
Këshilla të brendshme
- Dress in layers, winters are very cold and interiors can feel chilly.
- Stand on the original congress rostrum for a strong photo, aim for morning light through the front windows.
- Ask staff to point out original documents and photos, many labels are short and mainly in Turkish.
- Combine the visit with Erzurum Castle and the old town to make a compact half-day route.
