The artist actually took inspiration from the 1929 total solar eclipse visible from the cathedral steps, so the whole fixture recreates that celestial moment in metal and glass.

- Skip the elevator to the tower and take the 108-step spiral staircase instead, you'll pass the bell-ringing chamber and see the massive bells up close.
- The best photo spot is the western end looking east down the nave, where the repeating arches create a tunnel effect that draws the eye.
- Visit the small chapel of the Holy Spirit on the south side, the embroidered kneelers there were hand-stitched by local community groups with different Liverpool landmarks.
- Sunday services mean restricted visitor access until after 3pm, so plan your weekday visit to see the full space without ropes or barriers.
