Brze činjenice: Osmanska tvrđava u Berberi izgrađena je od strane Osmanlija u XIX vijeku za zaštitu strateške luke na obali Adenskog zaljeva. Zidovi tvrđave uzdižu se 10 metara, a s njenih kula otvara se panoramski pogled na grad i tirkizne vode zaljeva.
Istaknuto: Unutar tvrđave sačuvani su originalni osmanski topovi iz XIX vijeka koji su i dalje usmjereni prema moru, kao da očekuju napad. Lokalni stanovnici vjeruju da ispod tvrđave postoje tajni podzemni hodnici koji je povezuju s centrom Berbere, ali nijedan od njih do danas nije pronađen.
