Faits rapides: Dédié à Krishna en tant qu'avatar de Vishnou, le nom du temple se traduit par " cocher d'Arjuna " du Mahabharata. Le sanctuaire abrite cinq formes de Vishnou dans un seul autel, une rareté parmi les temples vaishnavites du sud de l'Inde.
Points forts: Lors du festival annuel du char, le char en bois vieux de 400 ans est tiré dans les rues de Triplicane par des centaines de dévots, ses roues massives gémissant sous le poids de la tradition. Les murs intérieurs du temple présentent 24 piliers sculptés de lions et de yalis mythiques, chacun racontant sa propre histoire oubliée des Puranas.

- Visit on Saturdays when the temple sees special alankaram (decoration) of the deities with fresh flowers and jewels.
- Remove footwear at the designated counters outside, and bring socks to protect your feet from the hot stone floor in summer.
- The temple museum near the entrance displays ancient artifacts and inscriptions, most visitors walk right past it.
- Combine your visit with a walk through the surrounding Triplicane neighborhood, famous for its traditional filter coffee stalls and historic buildings.
