Faits rapides: Le musée abrite plus de 4 000 œuvres dans un vaste bâtiment de l'époque soviétique construit à l'origine comme musée de la révolution. Sa collection va de l'avant-garde lituanienne aux poids lourds internationaux comme Andy Warhol et Jasper Johns.

Points forts: Au dernier étage, une immense verrière de l'artiste lituanien Kazys Morkūnas baigne la cage d'escalier d'une lumière ambrée changeante tout au long de la journée. L'exposition permanente comprend également un portrait holographique rarement visible de Jonas Mekas, le légendaire cinéaste d'avant-garde, qui s'anime lorsque vous passez devant.
