Faits rapides: Plus de 20 000 objets maritimes racontent l'histoire de la relation de Malte avec la mer, depuis les Phéniciens jusqu'à la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La collection est si vaste que seule une infime partie est exposée à tout moment, le reste étant conservé dans les réserves du musée.
Points forts: Le musée est installé dans l'ancienne boulangerie navale de Malte, un bâtiment des années 1840 qui approvisionnait autrefois toute la flotte britannique en Méditerranée en pain, 26 000 pains par jour. Les fours à pain d'origine se trouvent encore dans le bâtiment, et vous pouvez voir les énormes ustensiles de cuisine utilisés pour nourrir des milliers de soldats.

- Go straight to the bakery exhibition in the basement first, it is easy to miss and contains the original ovens from 1840.
- Take the stairs all the way to the top for the view over Vittoriosa's harbor, a perfect photo subject in the afternoon light.

- Set aside extra time for the model exhibition of old warships, it has over 50 detailed models with explanatory signs.
