Faits rapides: Trois générations de la famille Zubair ont collectionné plus de 5 000 artefacts couvrant l'histoire omanaise, des bijoux anciens aux cafetières utilisées dans les rituels d'hospitalité bédouins. Les quatre maisons du musée recréent chacune un aspect différent de la vie omanaise, dont une maison traditionnelle en palmes entièrement meublée et une galerie d'armes avec 500 poignards khanjar cérémoniels.
Points forts: La plupart des visiteurs passent devant la petite porte de la maison principale qui mène au majlis des femmes, un salon isolé où les femmes omanaises recevaient autrefois leurs invitées à l'abri des regards masculins. Le plafond ici est peint de motifs géométriques vibrants en rouge et or, et les coussins portent encore le faible parfum d'encens de plusieurs décennies d'utilisation.
